Recruitment: Nigeria’s emergence as a major business hub in Africa has drawn the attention of international organizations seeking to expand their operations. 1. The Nigerian Labour Act, 1971

The cornerstone of employment law in Nigeria, the Nigerian Labour Act, governs the relationship between employers and employees. The Act defines workers as individuals engaged in physical or administrative work under a contract. However, it excludes those in administrative, executive, technical, or professional roles, who are subject to the terms of their employment contracts. 2. Employee Compensation Act, 2010

Protecting employees from financial hardship due to work-related injuries, illnesses, or deaths, the Employee Compensation Act applies to both public and private sectors. Employers must deduct 1% of each employee’s monthly salary for the Employee Compensation Fund. 3. Industrial Training Act, 2011 (As Amended)

To promote skill acquisition in industry and commerce, the Industrial Training Act mandates contributions to a training fund.
