Graduates not being employable is the saddening reality staring unapologetically at the faces of every employer of labour in the Nigerian labour market. As it is now, finding a solution to this beast of a problem is of utmost importance to every major stakeholder in Nigerian educational sphere.
Graduate employability can be explained as the achievement of “the skills, understandings and personal attributes that make an individual more likely to secure employment and be successful in their chosen occupations to the benefit of themselves, the workforce, the community and the economy”
In their effort to address the matter, Pan African University (PAU) has taken a really pragmatic approach towards finding a long-lasting solution. That invariably entails addressing the system that produces these graduates year in year out, and most importantly design a curriculum that tackles the problem in various higher institutions of learning.
The approach employed by PAU has been simple; the use of keenly designed psychometric tools for students to understand their different personalities, identify their strengths and weaknesses and know for sure their intellectual capabilities so as to ascertain the career path to follow in their search for career success.
